Devaki (b.1972), Singapore

Painting, Oil on linen, 104x99.5cm , 2013
Location:  The Interlace, Singapore

This is one of two paintings by Devaki which was acquired for The Interlace. Renaissance features two flowers on an old branch. The medium used is western - oil on linen - but the composition and brush strokes are Chinese. There is much liu bai – the leaving of white space and little modulation and perspective, typical of traditional Chinese paintings.
